[외국인 학생 동아리(SNU CEE Int'l Student Chapter) 소개글]
The International Student Chapter (CEE-ISC) is a big family of foreign students of all degrees from our department. In the beginning of each semester, we gather to introduce our club executive members, activity plan for a semester, and welcome new students. The main purpose of our club is to help international students to adapt to university life in Korea and make connections with each other.
Our club was initiated by the Professor Van Thinh Nguyen in 2015. Since then, each semester more than 10 students meet and share their experience with each other. Moreover, a site tours in two directions take place. Cultural sightseeing tours help students to immerse into Korean culture, while technical tours help to understand their specialization better by seeing the implementation of knowledge that they are learning.
A club is an essential part of international students' community because it creates bonds between students to share their unique experience and receive help not only regarding our studies but also cheer up emotionally and mentally. Many members undergo hardships because of language barrier and cultural diversity, like missing opportunities and various programs, misunderstanding of school system and classes, etc. Here comes information exchange between students. Our activities also help students not to feel lonely in the beginning of their journey. We are happy to meet all international faculty members and students of our department.
