CoE International Office Virtual Korean Traditional Handicraft Contest

Dear International Members of the College of Engineering (CoE),

How are your classes going so far? Finals can be overwhelming, but we believe the blast you are having here in SNU will make it all worthwhile. Since we were unable to host in-person events this semester due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are offering a free DIY craft kit for Jagae (Mother-of-pearl) PopSockets and hosting a virtual Korean traditional handicraft contest.

*This event is ONLY for College of Engineering International students and scholars*

You can pick the DIY kit at our welcome center lounge (Bldg 38, Room 202) from Thursday, June 3 to Monday, June 7 during our office hours (Mon-Fri: 9am-6pm, *Lunch break: 12pm-1pm). Please bring your student ID card and ask for a kit!

In the DIY kit, there are two types of PopSockets: One with a background figure to decorate and one without any background. Also, there are six different background figures available to choose from. Each of figures are limited quantity and available on a first come, first serve basis.

1. Pick up your DIY kit at the welcome center lounge (Bldg 38, Room 202)
2. Follow us on Instagram @coe_international_office
3. Take a short video or a photo of your decorated popsockets
4. Post the video or photo on your Instagram tagging @coe_international_office with hashtags (#coeio #becreativeengineers #diypopsocket)

Contest Submission Deadline: Sunday, June 13 at 11:59pm

Our team will review all submissions and pick our winners. The winners will be notified by Instagram direct message (DM) by Monday, June 14th, before 6pm.

By participating in this contest, not only do you earn the chance to win prizes, but you will also get a free coffee mug.

To get your special gift or prize, please visit our welcome center lounge between Tuesday, June 15 and Friday, June 18, during our office hours (Mon-Fri: 9am-6pm, *Lunch break: 12pm-1pm).
