Infrastructure Geotechnical Engineering Park, Junboum Professor Geoenvironmental Engineering
About

Professor Junboum Park received his B.S. and M.S. in Civil Engineering from Seoul National University and his Ph.D. in Geoenvironmental Engineering from the University of Houston. After postdoctoral research at West Virginia University, he joined Seoul National University in 1996 and has devoted his career to research and education in geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering.

His principal research areas include permeable reactive barriers, leakage-detection systems, and sorption materials. He has published extensively in international journals and conferences and has advised government committees and engineering companies on challenging technical projects. He has led two international seminar series: the Geoenvironmental Engineering Seminar, launched in 2001, and the Geoenvironmental Engineering and Recycling Seminar, launched in 2011. From 2001 to 2010, he also founded and operated the laboratory startup Geoworks.
